WISCONSIN LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS

SYSTEMS MANAGER JOB ANNOUNCEMENT



I.          ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

             Established in 2002, the Wisconsin League of  
Conservation Voters (WLCV) is a             nonprofit, nonpartisan  
organization dedicated to electing conservation leaders to the  
state          legislature and encouraging lawmakers to champion  
conservation policies that effectively            protect Wisconsin's  
public health and natural resources. In pursuit of its mission,  
WLCV             engages in voter education, lobbying and issue  
advocacy. WLCV also issues candidate   endorsements and actively  
works for the election of candidates committed to strong and    
effective conservation policies.

II.        JOB SUMMARY

             The Systems Manager is responsible for the  
implementation of the organization’s             Infrastructure plan,  
which has the goals of:
·      ensuring that staff can easily communicate and share  
information with one another in multiple offices

·      having internal systems that ensure an efficient work  
environment for staff

·      helping staff to correctly use new technologies to facilitate  
efficiency

·      ensuring that all offices are good work environments

·      ensuring that basic accounting functions are systematic,  
orderly and meet auditors’ standards.

             The position places an emphasis on information  
technology.  The ideal candidate will      have experience and  
certifications in Information Technologies as well as the ability  
to         maintain general office operations including finance  
functions.

III.           PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

             Information technology support and maintenance

§     Responsible for ongoing maintenance of WLCV and WLCV Institute  
websites, including frequent content updates, improvements as needed  
and working with program staff to ensure that website content stays  
timely and interesting

§     Assist Development Director and Organizing Director with  
maintenance of WLCV database

§     Assist Organizing Director with analysis of website and  
database to improve productivity

§     Provide basic computer support, including: ordering and  
updating new computer equipment and software; assisting staff with  
trouble-shooting; improving systems as needed; and working with IT  
consultants when needed

§     Provide basic support of phone system and network devices such  
as servers and printers

§     Maintain the WLCV-hosted list serves



             Develop and maintain tracking and communications systems

§     Develop, document and maintain internal systems (a list of  
needed systems is included in the Infrastructure Plan which is  
available upon request)

§     Enforce system and usage compliance with staff as needed

§     Monitor systems for efficiency, recommend and perform changes  
as needed



             Maintain basic bookkeeping and finances

§     Responsible for paying bills, making deposits, running payroll  
and other basic bookkeeping functions on a weekly basis

§     Responsible for working with the Executive Director and  
consultant to ensure that financial tracking is adequate and meets  
accounting standards

§     Assist Executive Director and consultant in preparing for  
annual audits



             Provide program back-up

§     Keep legislative tracking current by recording legislative  
votes on the Conservation Vote Tracker on WLCV website

§     Deliver Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) to the Capitol  
and add to website weekly

§     Assist with logistics and backup on specific projects such as  
Conservation Lobby Day, the Conservation Priorities and the Scorecard

§     Other duties as assigned



IV.       JOB QUALIFICATIONS

§     A proven ability to be highly organized and detail-oriented is  
required

§     Knowledge and experience in using a HTML editor and supporting  
CMS based web sites

§     1-2 years supporting and maintaining Microsoft Operating  
systems, MS Office, QuickBooks, and the ability to learn and maintain  
WLCV’s database system

§     Experience in providing basic support of a workgroup sized  
computer network and basic phone operations

§     1 year of performing basic day-to-day accounting functions

§     Demonstration of commitment to the goals and vision of  WLCV


V.        WORKING CONDITIONS

§     Based in Madison

§     Some infrequent in-state travel may be necessary

§     Some evening and weekend work required

§     Fast-paced and requires juggling multiple projects and meeting  
deadlines



VI.       SALARY RANGE

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

This position reports to the Executive Director.
