Hello DANEnet Volunteers,

This month's DANEnet CommunityIT project takes place at the United
Asian Services of Wi. Inc., (http://www.ursw.org) Formerly United
Refugee Services, UASW provides support services to Asians, refugees,
asylees, and their descendants, living primarily in Dane and Rock
Counties.

The two main tasks are (1) assessing a newly setup Windows 2003
server and (2) moving their hub, patch panel and router into a more
secure location.

NEW SERVER: They recently setup a Windows 2003 server but only two
staff persons are connected to it. They would like someone to assess
the server (is it a peer-to-peer server or domain controller?) and
give recommendations, maybe even help adding accounts for the rest of
the staff.

MOVE NETWORK: They would like their network equipment (patch panel,
hubs and router) moved to the other side of a wall, removing it from
a community accessible room into a locked closet. They are getting a
4 post rely rack donated so it should make the move easy.

United Asian Services of Wi. is located at 312 North 3rd Street on
Madison's east-side. Look for a single story brick building in the
triangle created by Pennsylvania (Packers) Ave., East Johnson St. and
3rd St. (see attached map) We'll start at 6PM. Hope to see you there.
Call me if you get lost.
