[Commcomp] DANEnet Volunteer Project for Jan. 24 - 7PM - Network Install

Kids, grab your toners and punch down tools  - DANEnet volunteers  
will be installing a network next Wednesday!

Jan 24 - 7PM - 520 University Ave. - Suite 227

The Center for Media & Democracy is ready to trade in their string of  
wires for a real network complete with a patch panel and wall plates.  
All levels of experience are encouraged to join. Its a fairly small  
network  - about 5 drops and 16 connections total.

Tasks include:

-relocated existing router, hub and modem
-cutting holes in drywall for recessed boxes
-dropping cable between walls in stud space
-pulling cable to various offices
-punching down patch panel and ethernet jacks
-testing connections

Tools to bring

-drywall saw, punch down tool, cable tester, stud finder, fish tape,  
fish stix, crimper, utility knife, level

520 University is near King of Falafel and just down the street from
