DANEnet hosts the Nonprofit Technical Round Table focusing on image
processing
What: People working with technology in Nonprofits come together to
share experiences and solutions.
Where: RSVP board room. 517 N. Segoe Road, Suite 301.
When: January 17th from 8:00am to 9:30am
In this session we will be talking about images. We will talk about the
differences between the pictures you put in your brochures and the
pictures you put on your Web sites. We will also talk about a range of
free image manipulation software that can save so-so pictures and
improve even the best images.
The Nonprofit Technical Round Table is a gathering of people concerned
about technology in the nonprofit world. Every other month interested
people gather for information sharing and discussion. The hour and a
half will be roughly divided into presentation, case study/discussion of
the focus topic and an open discussion of current technical issues.
Other notes:
1. The new attack on Windows computers using a type of graphic file
(.wmf) was particularly scary because it could be activated by Internet
Explorer just by visiting a Web page (without downloading anything or
clicking I accept for anything). Fortunately up-to-date virus
definintions and, by now, windows updates protect computers. This
underscores the importance of having automatic updates for both viruses
and windows vulnerabilites.
