-How was the your volunteer experience?

I had hoped for more social interaction with other volunteers, but because we
couldn't complete our project in time, I arrived late to the social event at
the church.

-What would have improved your experience or made your job easier?

We got off track when we considered the idea of wireless, and had we
established it was not an option prior to the event day, that would have saved
an hour or so. Considering how much other planning and preparation work was
done, and so successfully, this isn't a complaint. Basically it boils down to
not having been involved in development of the Hancock Center's network prior
to the day-of. In one word: CONTINUITY.

-Any other suggestions?

I was extremely impressed with how well-organized everything was. A "Great
job!" to everyone involved, and I suspect that kudos is mostly directed to Matt
Eberly. Way to go, Matt.

On hind sight, I don't know if putting to amateurs up 20' in the air on ladders
provided by Hancock and DaneNet was such a good idea. Yes, we signed waivers,
but while I'm no lawyer, it just seems like Hancock and DaneNet may have put
themselves at considerable financial risk. Had one of us fallen and been
killed or confined to a wheelchair the rest of our lives, I'm sure some kind of
liability lawsuit would have been pursued by the victims' estates. We live in
a litigious society.
